We’re going to keep it short, sweet, and to the point in today’s blog because we know that as a salon professional, you have a busy schedule to keep! Have you ever felt stuck in a rut with what to post on social media? Have you wondered when to post and how frequent you should be doing it? If social media has been a source of stress for you, then, my friend, this post is for you!
Today, we’ll be sharing three tidbits of advice that will help you turn your social media traffic from “likes” into “dollars in your pocket.” Are you ready? Let’s go!
The big thing to focus on when you are thinking of what to post is what will make you noticeable? What posts will set you apart from your competitors and get you noticed? What will not only get you noticed, but turn your follower into a client?
One of the first things you need to do is position yourself as the expert in your craft. You need to take this position and own it. You want people to know that no one has scissor skills like you. No one can custom color like you. No one can do nail art like you. You get the idea. You claim that title as the best and guess what? Others will believe it! It’s all about how you present yourself. Don’t post as if you are another fish in the sea of stylists. Position yourself as the top dog and then live up to the title.
Next, once you have figured out what your “claim to fame” is, shout it from the rooftops! Sing it loud and sing it proud. Let everyone and anyone know how good you are. After all, social media is your chance to get personal with your clients and showcase your talents. Show before and after pics. Share stories and let your personality shine through your posts. Connect with your followers. Social media is the perfect avenue for you to build credibility and loyalty amongst your existing and future clients. Let them know that you are a person and not just some stiff robot promoting themselves through a computer.
As our third and final tip in this blog, we preach the awesomeness that is online booking! So many things are done digitally these days and booking an appointment with you should be too. Your client may be thinking about making a hair appointment when they’ve settled down for the day but it’s after closing hours for your salon so they can’t call to book an appointment. If you offer online booking, they wouldn’t have to wait to call and make an appointment, or forget about it and move on. They could simply visit your website and book one there. If this is something you offer, boast it! Include it in almost every post and let people know this is one way they can make an appointment with you. It’s great, easy, and convenient for both you and the client and bookings are sure to increase.
